As we start the New Year, I want to start by saying thank you for the opportunity to serve as your representative on the Miami-Dade County Commission. My commitment is to continue serving with the same open door policy as always.
As I entered my fifth term of service, it was a great honor to have our Lieutenant Governor-Elect Jeanette Nuñez administer the oath of office. The start of the New Year also marks the start of my service as Vice Chairwoman of the Board of County Commissioners alongside our newly elected Chairwoman, Audrey Edmonson. I have full confidence that Chairwoman Edmonson’s leadership will help improve the quality of life for all in Miami-Dade County. I am honored by the trust that my colleagues have placed in me to serve the residents of Miami-Dade County in this capacity.
May 2019 bring you, and all residents of Miami-Dade County, all the best!
"Congratulations to our Chairwoman Audrey Edmonson! It will be an honor to serve at your side as Vice Chairwoman of the Miami-Dade County Commission." Vice Chairwoman Rebeca Sosa
WLRN News - Miami-Dade County has purchased a broad swath of property that will be used for a nearly 6-mile urban trail. The purchase of Ludlam Trial is the culmination of a multi-year effort by activists, urban planners and the Miami-Dade County government. The trail will run north to south from between Dadeland Mall and Miami International Airport, and close to SW/NW 69th Avenue. Read more.
Learn more about Commissioner Sosa's vision for the Ludlam Trail.
The Ludlam Trail will connect over 35,000 people within a one-half-mile radius to five schools, four parks, and two transit hubs, along with residential and commercial areas.
It is estimated that the Ludlam Trail could yield a 140,000 reduction in motorized vehicle trips and ease congestion on adjacent roadways.
Once fully operational, the Ludlam Trail will form an integral part of the 225 mile planned Miami Loop, a trail network project consisting of publicly-accessible greenway trails that also includes The Underline, Miami River Greenway and the Perimeter Trail.
