Job Fair to Provide Employment in the Community

 


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
On Wednesday, January 23, Miami-Dade Housing Agency (MDHA), Miami-Dade County’s Office of Community and Economic Development, and Abilities of Florida, will host its annual Section 3 Job Fair at the Joseph Caleb Center, 5400 NW 22 Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Employers will be on hand to offer low-income persons job opportunities in a variety of occupational areas, including construction and retail positions, specifically air conditioning technician, apprenticeship programs, bricklayers, cashiers, carpenters, clerks, concrete finishers, electricians, janitors, laborers, fainters, plumbers, security guard services and more.

Representatives from various academic institutions will also be available to provide information on educational opportunities and employability skills.

Section 3 is a U.S. Housing and Urban Development program that promotes job training and contracting opportunities to residents in the community.

Attendees should come dressed for success and bring their resume, photo identification, driver’s license, Social Security card, as well as other acceptable documents as identified on form I-9 (Employment eligibility Verification).

Abilities of Florida will be conducting assessments throughout the day.
