MIAMI - The Miami-Dade County Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board (HAAB) under the Office of Community Advocacy, in collaboration with Mi Libro Hispano organization and the Miami-Dade County Public Library System, invites you to continue celebrating #HispanicHeritageMonth with the third annual Hispanic Heritage Book Fair taking place from Oct. 13 through Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. each night on Facebook.

The Hispanic Heritage Book Fair, which brings together more than a hundred writers each year, in addition to the participation of publishers, teachers, artists, and cultural and educational organizations, has become an emblem of Hispanic literature and culture in the United States. Each edition is characterized by an increase in participants, the launch of works in Spanish, English and bilingual editions, the quality and variety of the programs, and the welcome of new authors.

In this edition, the fair will present Maya Atach Litwack, a 5-year-old girl and author of the book El abecedario art de Maya. This year’s fair also features the launch of the book “Hispanic Stars Rising” on Oct. 17, in which 90 contributing authors participated. It also highlights the success and growth of Hispanics living in Miami and United States.

The Hispanic Heritage Book Fair is an initiative created to promote reading and writing in Spanish, publicize literary works written by Hispanic authors, and promote cultural diversity. Its programs promote the arts and traditions, while exalting the work of writers and the contribution of Hispanic literature to the universal culture within the framework of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Sponsors for the 2020’s virtual Hispanic Heritage Book Fair are the Miami-Dade Public Library System, Mi Libro Hispano, and Contexto Ñuble. Other participating organizations are: Memoria Cultural, Museo Empresarial y Cultural de Colombia, Snow Fountain Press, Cafeletreando, LaPeraRadioTV.com, Rosemarynews.com, Poetansia Editores, Violeta Ediciones, Simple as 1, 2, 3, Tell me a grandmother story, LDF Dance Studio, Generation News News, Hispanic Star, IMC Health Medical Centers, and Accountable Impact, among others.
