STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Executive Summary
The People and Internal Operations Department (PIOD) completed the required annual reporting associated with the Resolution, which authorizes County employees to donate the monetary value of their accrued annual and holiday leave to Love Fund, Inc. via the Love Trust Fund to support law enforcement and their families. This report provides the total monetary value of employee leave?time donations for calendar year 2025, as required under Section 3 of the Resolution. During this reporting period, County employees contributed a total of $72.70.

Background
In 2023, the Board adopted Resolution No. R?943?23, establishing the Love Trust Fund and allocating $500,000 from the FY 20222023 budget to support Love Fund, Inc. The Love Trust Fund is a Countyestablished fund created for the purpose of collecting County?approved funding and employee?donated leave-time contributions to Love Fund, Inc. The Board has approved the use of the Love Trust Fund to provide: (a) direct financial assistance to law enforcement personnel and their families; (b) scholarships for dependents of law enforcement personnel for continuing education at universities, trade schools or other post-secondary institutions; (c) storm/hurricane supplies, equipment and relief to law enforcement personnel and their families; (d) post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) relief related to services to law enforcement personnel and their families; and (e) financial assistance to other agencies that support law enforcement officers and their families.

Recommendation
In accordance with the Resolution, it is recommended that this Board authorize the employee contributions of earned annual and holiday leave time for the purposes described above, based on the total net amount donated by County employees to the Countys Love Trust Fund. For calendar year 2025, employee contributions totaled $72.70.

Pursuant to Rule 5.06(j) of the Boards Rules of Procedures, this report will be placed on the next available Board meeting agenda. Should you require any information regarding the donations, please contact Virginia Washington, Deputy Director, PIOD, at 305-375-1793.
