TITLE Report on County Employees Contributions to Charitable Organizations Program Directive No. 232287 HEADER Date: To: Honorable Chairman Anthony Rodriguez and Members, Board of County Commissioners From: Daniella Levine Cava Mayor Subject: Report on County Employees Contributions to Charitable Organizations Program Directive No. 232287 This report serves as a status update to the progress of the Miami-Dade County (County) Employees Contribution to Charitable Organizations, Employee Giving Program, as outlined in Resolution No. R-1026-23, adopted by the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners (Board) on November 7, 2023. The Resolution directs the County Mayor or Mayors designee to expand charitable giving options for County employees and provides annual updates to the Board on the status of the program. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Executive Summary This status update is the second report and provides the latest figures and developments from May 2025 through December 2025. Since the last report submitted in May 2025, the Countys Employee Giving Program has seen continued growth. While the number of eligible charitable organizations participating in the program has remained the same, employee contributions have increased, with total donations now reaching $12,714.00 as of December 26, 2025, an increase of $6,687.50 from the previous total reported in May 2025. The People and Internal Operations Department (PIOD) has launched strategic outreach efforts to enhance engagement, featuring collaborations with charitable organizations during major County events such as the Annual Wellness 5K and Family Fun Day. Status of Program Implementation The program continues to enhance visibility through the Employee Giving Program webpage and the INFORMS system, making it easy for employees to contribute via payroll deduction. Ongoing outreach efforts have further strengthened awareness of these established organizations. As of December 26, 2025, the following charitable organizations continue to be eligible recipients of employee contributions through payroll deductions: * 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project * A Safe Haven for Newborns/The Gloria M. Silverio Foundation, Inc. * American Cancer Society * The Carrie Meek Foundation * Center for Haitian Studies * Chapman Partnership * Easter Seals South Florida * Guitars Over Guns * Jackson Health Foundation * Jewish Community Services * Kristi House, Inc. * Live Like Bella Foundation * Goodwill Industries of South Florida, Inc. Engagement and Outreach Efforts The Charitable Organizations were invited to participate in the Countys Annual Wellness 5K and Family Fun Day at Zoo Miami on October 18, 2025. This event provided an additional opportunity for employees to connect with the participating organizations and learn more about their missions. Additionally, the Employee Giving Program was highlighted in the Whats New newsletter and Employee Pay Day Message. On September 16, 2025, a brainstorming session was hosted with all 13 participating organizations. The purpose of this session was to evaluate best outreach opportunities for greater visibility among County employees. Several key strategies were identified during this session for future implementation aimed at strengthening employee engagement and outreach. Annual Report The following table summarizes the total employee contributions to each of the 13 charitable organizations, from its implementation through December 26, 2025: Charitable Organization Total Contribution 5000 Role Models of Excellence $2,195.00 American Cancer Society $937.00 Center for Haitian Studies $1,749.00 Chapman Partnership $1,190.00 Easter Seals South Florida $1,670.00 Jackson Health Foundation $910.00 Jewish Community Services $550.00 Kristi House, Inc. $693.00 Live Like Bella Foundation $161.00 The Carrie Meek Foundation $269.00 A Safe Haven for Newborns $2,355.00 Guitars Over Guns $35 Goodwill Industries of South Florida, Inc. $0 Grand Total $12,714.00 This update reflects continued progress in employee engagement and support for charitable organizations across the County.
