RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. R-1026-23, AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. R-635-24, TO ADD FRIENDS OF THE MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC LIBRARY, INC., AND PARKS FOUNDATION OF MIAMI-DADE, INC., TO THE LIST OF CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS THAT SHALL BE ELIGIBLE RECIPIENTS OF EMPLOYEE CONTRIBUTIONS THROUGH PAYROLL DEDUCTION

WHEREAS, on November 7, 2023, this Board adopted Resolution No. R-1026-23 expanding opportunities for County employees to contribute to charitable organizations through payroll deduction, identifying a list of charitable organizations that shall be eligible recipients of employee contributions through payroll deduction, and requiring that any additional organizations shall receive prior approval by the Board of County Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, on July 2, 2024, this Board adopted Resolution No. R-635-24, which amended Resolution No. R-1026-23 to add one additional charitable organization to the list; and
WHEREAS, on July 16, 2025, the County Mayor issued a report in response to R-1026-23, recommending certain eligibility criteria for future charitable organizations and stating that as of May 7, 2025, County employees had contributed a total of $6,026.50 to eligible charitable organizations through payroll deduction; and
WHEREAS, this Board desires to add Friends of the Miami-Dade Public Library, Inc., and Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, Inc., to the list of charitable organizations that shall be eligible recipients of employee contributions through payroll deduction,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board further amends Resolution No. R-1026-23 to add Friends of the Miami-Dade Public Library, Inc., and Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, Inc., to the list of charitable organizations that shall be eligible recipients of employee contributions through payroll deduction.
