American music legends "The Family Stone" & "The Guess Who" headlining "12th Annual Love-In Party In The Park"


(MIAMI, April 27, 2015) — It’s that time of year again, when fans of the ‘Flower Power’ put on their bell-bottoms, halter tops, fringed leather vests and love beads in-style for “Love-In Party In The Park” at Greynolds Park. Now in its 12th season this signature event of the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department will take place on Sunday, May 3, from 11 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., featuring an outdoor festival and live concerts celebrating the music of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.  American music legends “The Family Stone” and “The Guess Who” are the headlined bands. 

The famed Family Stone band is known for their powerful rock anthems, infused with soul, funk and jazz, such as "Dance to the Music", "Everyday People", "Stand!", "Thank You", "I Want to Take You Higher", and "Family Affair.”  Internationally acclaimed rock superstars, The Guess Who band, had more than 14 “Top 40” hits, which included "American Woman," "Hand Me Down World,” “Bus Rider,” “Rain Dance,” “Star Baby,” and “Clap for the Wolfman. ”

Once popularized for poetry readings, music jams and peaceful demonstrations, historic Greynolds Park steps back in time for this one-day music extravaganza that features great food, arts & crafts, a classic car display, and much more.  The day-long concert will also feature the popular local bands Mr. Nice Guy, Blackstar and Eagles Tribute Band, The Long Run.

The event is hosted by the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department and the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade. Partnering sponsors include Catholic Health Services, Peterson's Harley Davidson of Miami, Magic 102.7 FM, AT&T, and Coca-Cola.

Concert-goers are advised that coolers, umbrellas, bottles, and pets are not permitted on park grounds. Patrons are encouraged to bring along blankets and lawn chairs for their comfort, as well as family activity items such as “hula hoops” and “frisbees.”
