Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works 2021 New Year's Eve schedule

The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) announces its New Year’s Eve holiday schedule for Metrorail, Metrobus, and Metromover.

All Miami-Dade County offices, including DTPW administrative offices, will be closed on Friday, December 31, for the New Year’s Eve holiday. Although STS offices will be closed, STS customers can still call the STS reservation number at 305-871-1111 to reserve or cancel an STS trip. 

On Friday, December 31, Metrobus, Metrorail, Metromover will be operating on its regular weekday schedule. On Saturday, January 1, Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule. Metrorail and Metromover will be operating on its regular weekend schedule.

Those attending celebrations in Downtown Miami should note that after 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Metrorail will have a 30-minute frequency. This service will be extended until 2 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022.

Additionally, the last northbound and southbound trains will depart from the Government Center Station at approximately 2 a.m. Entry to Metrorail stations will not be permitted after 2 a.m., only exiting.

Metromover service also will be extended until approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1.

Parking facilities at Metrorail stations will remain open through the following day, Saturday, Jan. 1, until 3 a.m.

Per federal mandate, face masks remain a requirement for any transit rider, both inside of a Miami-Dade Transit vehicle and at a Miami-Dade Transit facility (including at bus stops and on the platforms).

DTPW will continue to follow the latest COVID-19 guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Florida Department of Health (FDOH), and Miami-Dade County.
