Roundtable Discussion re: Dec. 5 police-involved incident

 

MIAMI – The Miami-Dade Community Relations Board (CRB)’s Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Committee, under the Office of Community Advocacy, and the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board (HAAB) to hold a roundtable discussion with representatives from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) regarding the December 5, 2019 police-involved incident. The discussion will take place from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1st Street, Miami. FL, Second Floor Press Room.

The Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board is charged with the responsibility to advocate on behalf of the Hispanic populace in Miami-Dade by creating awareness while addressing pressing matters that have an effect in the community.

The Community Relations Board’s primary mission is to intervene and contain community tensions, as quickly as possible. The secondary mission is to work proactively to identify and relieve intergroup conflicts before crises arise; to develop bridges of understanding and support programs in the community; to foster understanding, communication, and mutual respect; to develop and support local or city based Community Relations Boards throughout the county; and to assure that resources are in place to respond to community crisis.
