Animal Services is always in need of donations from the public. Donations in the form of financial assistance, gift certificates from print/copy stores, local home improvement, hardware, or pet stores, and equipment will be used to help promote, supply the shelter with additional equipment, increase public awareness, and plan and organize additional educational programs.
ASD receives approximately 32-percent of its budget from the County's General Operating Fund, while the remaining 68-percent is self-generated and derived through dog license tag sales, shelter fees, enforcement fines and donations. All donations to the Animal Trust Fund may be deducted as charitable contributions for Federal Income Tax purposes. Unlike private shelters that choose to have limitations on the number of pets they accept, we accept all animals at Animal Services. None are turned away and each year the shelter impounds more than 32,000 dogs and cats.

Financial donations in the form of checks should be made payable to the Board of County Commissioners with the memo line noting Animal Services Trust Fund.
