First Assistant County Attorney Geri Bonzon Keenan read into the record the title of the foregoing proposed resolution.
Discussion ensued among the members of the Board, Assistant County Attorney David Murray, and Deputy Director Ken Pyatt, Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD), regarding the intent of the proposed amendment, the reasons for extending the contract month to month, and the additional funds included.
Upon conclusion of the foregoing discussion, the members of the Board proceeded to vote on the foregoing resolution as amended.
It was moved by Vice Chairwoman Edmonson that the Board of County Commissioners adopt the foregoing proposed resolution as amended to authorize the County Administration to negotiate and execute a change order for up to two (2) years or until the re-procurement of MCC-9 or procurement of MCC-9, whichever is earlier; to add an additional $18 million to the contract to complete projects that had already been initiated under the MCC-8 contract; to provide a contingency amount for any mechanical work that needed to be completed under MCC-8; to allow the County Administration to negotiate that with the current MCC-8 vendor; and to provide a quarterly report on the progress of the Invitation to Bid (ITB). This motion was seconded by Commissioner Jordan; and upon being put to a vote, the motion passed by a vote of 10-0 (Commissioners Diaz, Martinez, and Souto were absent).
