RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT AND THE MIAMI-DADE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE FEBRUARY 24, 2008 11TH ANNUAL MIAMI HEAT FAMILY FESTIVAL SPONSORED BY DADE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $10,800.00 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE COUNTYWIDE IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY
WHEREAS, Dade Community Foundation has requested in-kind services from the General Services Administration Department and the Miami-Dade Police Department for the February 24, 2008 11th Annual Miami Heat Family Festival in an amount not to exceed $10,800.00 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the 11th Annual Miami Heat Family Festival is to allow Miami Heat players, coaches, celebrities and 250 families to come together for a day to raise significant funds for the Miami Heat Charitable Fund which, in turn, supports programs for the betterment of at-risk families in South Florida; and
WHEREAS, Dade Community Foundation is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the 11th Annual Miami Heat Family Festival is a special event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and the in-kind services shall be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board retroactively authorizes in-kind services from the General Services Administration Department and the Miami-Dade Police Department for the February 24, 2008 11th Annual Miami Heat Family Festival in an amount not to exceed $10,800.00 to be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund.
