TITLE
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE FEBRUARY 26, 2010 �CARNAVAL MIAMI 8K RUN� SPONSORED BY THE KIWANIS OF LITTLE HAVANA FOUNDATION, INC., A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,225.00 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE UNSPENT BALANCE OF THE DISTRICT 4 FY 2008-09 IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY

WHEREAS, the Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation, Inc. has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department for the February 26, 2010 �Carnaval Miami 8K Run� in an amount not to exceed $1,225.00 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the �Carnaval Miami 8K Run� is a fundraiser to benefit community projects and programs overseen by the Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation; and
WHEREAS, the Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the �Carnaval Miami 8K Run� is a small event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and $1,225.00 of the fee waiver shall be funded from the unspent balance of the District 4 FY 2008-09 In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board authorizes a fee waiver from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department for the February 26, 2010 �Carnaval Miami 8K Run� in an amount not to exceed $1,225.00 to be funded from the unspent balance of the District 4 In-kind Reserve Fund.
