TITLE
RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE COUNTY MAYOR TO PURSUE A MARKETING CAMPAIGN AIMED AT REBRANDING MIAMI-DADE COUNTY AS A "FRIENDLY PLACE TO DO BUSINESS" AND A GREAT PLACE TO OPEN A NEW BUSINESS

BODY
WHEREAS, it is imperative to recognize that private business and entrepreneurs drive the research and development, jobs, and opportunities of tomorrow, thereby forming the backbone of the United States economy; and
WHEREAS, especially during the current economic downturn, entrepreneurs in Miami-Dade County must be encouraged to form new businesses, and existing business entities must be encouraged to relocate operations to Miami-Dade County; and
WHEREAS, in reflection of Miami-Dade Countys attractiveness to a potential workforce, including a year-round warm climate, excellent public and private schools, outstanding centers for the arts, and ease of access to a wide-array of diverse recreational activities, business entities currently seeking to relocate their operations should therefore consider Miami-Dade County as a top site alternative,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board directs the County Mayor or Mayors designee to pursue a marketing campaign centered on rebranding Miami-Dade County as a friendly place to do business and a great place to open a new business and submit a status report regarding said campaign to this Board within sixty (60) days of the effective date of this resolution. The County Mayor or Mayors designee shall provide bi-monthly updates to the Board until the campaign is fully implemented.
