TITLE
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MIAMI-DADE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO HOST THE WOUNDED WARRIORS AMPUTEE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER AND SOLICIT CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THIRD PARTIES TO SUPPORT THE FUNDRAISER

BODY
WHEREAS, the Miami-Dade Police Department is hosting the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team and coordinating a softball tournament to raise funds for the organization; and
WHEREAS, the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised of young, competitive, athletic veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs post9/11, while serving their country in the military; and
WHEREAS, the Softball Tournament will be held December�89, 2012 at Tropical Park and will include a funfilled day including food trucks, a bounce house and music; and
WHEREAS, the Miami-Dade Police Department is seeking sponsors to ensure the success of the event; and
WHEREAS, the Commission believes that the event serves a public purpose and is in the best interest of the citizens of Miami-Dade County,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board authorizes the Miami-Dade Police Department to host the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Tournament and solicit contributions from third parties to support the fundraiser.
