RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. R-599-13 TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL MEMBER TO THE MIAMI-DADE SEA LEVEL RISE TASK FORCE WHO REPRESENTS THE COMMUNITY AT-LARGE

BODY

WHEREAS, on July 2, 2013, this Board approved Resolution No. R-599-13, a copy of which is attached and incorporated by reference, which created the Miami-Dade Sea Level Rise Task Force; and
WHEREAS, Section 4 of Resolution No. R-599-13 provides that the Miami-Dade Sea Level Rise Task Force shall consist of six (6) members who reside in Miami-Dade County:
a. One (1) member who possesses an expertise in civil engineering with a focus on infrastructure;
b. One (1) member who possesses an expertise in community and real estate development;
c. One (1) member who possesses expertise in one or more of the following areas: climatology; geophysics; coastal management, oceanography or coastal ocean science;
d. One (1) member who possesses expertise in emergency management;
e. One (1) member who possesses expertise in economics; and
f. The sixth (6th) member shall be Harvey Ruvin, the Clerk of Courts; and

WHEREAS, in addition to these six (6) members, this Board would like to amend Resolution No. R-599-13 to add a seventh (7th) member to the Miami-Dade Sea Level Rise Task Force to ensure that there is a representative of the community at-large,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board amends Section 4 of Resolution No. R-599-13 to increase the membership of the Miami-Dade Sea Level Rise Task Force from six (6) members to seven (7) members. The seventh (7th) member shall be a resident of Miami-Dade County who shall represent the community at-large. Subparagraphs (e) and (i) of Section 4 of Resolution No. R-599-13 are also amended to reflect the change in the membership of the Miami-Dade Sea Level Rise Task Force from six (6) members to seven (7) members.
