Sponsored Legislation: Bike305 Month

In order to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle among residents, Chairwoman Sosa proclaimed March 2013, and every March thereafter, as “Bike305 Month” in Miami-Dade County. The County has joined efforts with several municipalities in order to support the connectivity of people and places through the County’s bike pathways. This collaboration is a way for County residents to explore and enjoy parks and attractions along or near our trail ways.

The participating municipalities include: City of Coral Gables, Town of Cutler Bay, Village of Key Biscayne, City of Miami, Village of Palmetto Bay, and Village of Pinecrest. The resolution proclaiming “Bike305 Month” follows the Master Plan of the Miami-Dade Park, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, with principles and goals for a seamless, sustainable system of great parks, public spaces, natural areas, cultural areas, greenways, water trails, and streets throughout the County.
