As a certified training center for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, the Miami-Dade Public Safety Training Institute & Research Center (MDPSTIRC) offers a variety of courses for law enforcement agencies located within Region XIV, our designated training area, encompassing Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.  

Region XIV training courses are open to all sworn law enforcement officers within Region XIV. In some cases, law enforcement support personnel may also be eligible to attend, but classes are limited to space available and preference will be given to sworn personnel.

Required documentation: Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) personnel are required to submit an approved MDPSTIRC-24 form  through proper channels. You will be notified by the course coordinator when you are confirmed to attend the class. 

Outside agencies must send a letter on appropriate agency letterhead indicating the individuals who have been approved to attend the requested training.
