Building Permit-Related Applications and Plans Submissions

For submittals processed at the Miami-Dade Permitting and Inspection Center or Overtown Transit Village 2nd Floor: new building-related permit applications, plans, corrections, revisions, extensions, re-issuances, subsidiary permits, change of contractor.

Includes municipal building permit plan reviews that require County approvals (i.e.DERM, WASD, FIRE, etc.).

DERM Program and Permit Review Submissions

For submittals that require DERM program or permit review such as Class II, III, V and VI permits, EQCB applications and more.


Not to be used for municipal building permit plan reviews that require County approvals (i.e. DERM, WASD, FIRE, etc.) or Coastal and Wetland permits.

Building Recertification

Apply for a Municipal or Unincorporated Certificate of Use

If you plan to start a business, run a vacation rental, sell a vehicle or boat from your home, put a small storage unit on your residential property, or create an additional dwelling unit in your home in Miami-Dade County, you'll need to fill out the correct application for a Certificate of Use. These applications make sure that you're following the county's regulations for these activities.

Community Association Registration

Apply to Miami-Dade County's registration of Community Associations defined as condominiums, cooperatives and homeowners' associations, that govern real property in Miami-Dade County, not specifically exempt under Chapter 17D of the Code of the Miami-Dade County.

Tree Removal Permit Application

Apply for Miami-Dade County review and approval of tree removal permits within Miami-Dade County for trees not specifically exempt under Chapter 24-49 of the Miami-Dade County Code.

This process includes reviews from the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, Division of Environmental Resource Management (DERM).

Class I Coastal Permit Application

A Miami-Dade County Class I Permit must be obtained prior to performing any work in, on, over or upon tidal waters or coastal wetlands of Miami-Dade County or of any of the municipalities located within Miami-Dade County. A Class I Permit is also required for most mangrove trimming, alteration or removal.

Class IV Freshwater Permit Application

A Miami-Dade Class IV Permit must be obtained prior to performing any work in wetlands anywhere in Miami-Dade County, per Chapter 24-48 of the Miami Dade County Code. Examples of projects may include clearing, farming, filling, dredging, plowing, or rock mining within freshwater wetlands.

Expedited Administrative Authorization (Environmental) Application

Apply for an expedited administrative authorization (EAA) for specific activities, provided it will not result in adverse environment impacts and unencapsulated polystyrene shall not be used in connection with the work.

Structural Glazing Recertification Record Submission

Use this feature for Miami-Dade County Structural Glazing Recertification Record Submissions for threshold buildings containing an exterior façade of structural sealant glazing subject to recertification 5 years from the year built and every 5 years thereafter. 

This process is specific for buildings under the jurisdiction of Unincorporated Miami-Dade County.

Private Provider Firm Registration

Click here to register your business entity as a Private Provider Firm under FS 553.791. Firms must be qualified by one or more Licensed Engineer, Architect, or Building Code Administrator and meet minimum insurance requirements.

Private Provider Representative Registration
