REHABILITATION OF MANHOLES ON PUMP STATION BASIN 1 AND 2 GRAVITY INTERCEPTOR SYSTEMS

Scope of Work: (Contractor must obtain and submit all permits prior to performing any work). The Project consists of furnishing all labor, material, and equipment for rehabilitation of approximately (15) fifteen manholes on the 72-inch Biscayne Boulevard Interceptor. The work of the manhole rehabilitation shall include, but not be limited to, excavation; removal of the existing manhole corbel; furnishing and installing HDPE or fiberglass pipe as a manhole repair insert; surface preparation to install the insert repair pipe; pressure washing and repairing grouting voids; preparation of a base to install the insert repair pipe; installing a screen or barrier over the manhole opening to prevent debris from falling into the interceptor; concrete repair and restoration as needed; attaching pipe to the insert repair pipe on the interceptor; filling void in the ground with flowable fill; intercepting connecting gravity sewer systems, handling the flow during the rehab, and reestablishing the connection once the manhole is rehabbed; grouting the annular space between the repair insert pipe and the existing manhole structure; grouting any voids and sealing at the junction of the interceptor and top slab; furnishing and installing new manhole reinforced top slab; furnishing and installing a protective coating for the manhole top slab; furnishing grout and concrete with an anti-microbial additive; furnishing and installing manhole frame and cover; measuring dimensions and making cutting materials to size for the rehabilitation work; complying with all OSHA safety requirements for confined space and personal protective equipment; furnishing and installing flowable fill, if required; traffic control; legal disposal of debris; furnishing and utilizing all required safety equipment; working at low flow times when required; securing City of Miami permits; pavement restoration; and all other miscellaneous and appurtenant work for a complete manhole rehabilitation. The manholes to be repaired are located throughout the North Biscayne Bay 72-inch Interceptor system constructed over 70 years ago. Approximately (15) fifteen of these manholes shall be repaired as part of this project. The Miami Dade County Ordinance No.90-143 is applicable to this Project. The Contractor shall review the "Supplemental General Conditions" and the "Wage and Benefit Schedule" that are included within these documents. It is the intent of the Department to obtain a complete functional, and satisfactory installation under this Contract, and any items of labor, equipment or materials which may reasonably be assumed as necessary to accomplish this end shall be supplied whether or not they are specifically shown on the Plans or stated herein.
