Scope of Work: (Contractor must obtain and submit all permits prior to performing any work.) SCOPE OF WORK: (Contractor must obtain and submit all permits prior to performing any work.) CONTRACTOR shall review all documents, specifications, plans, and scope of work provided by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department for work to be completed. Furnish all labor, equipment, and materials required to comply with the intent of the WORK described in the contract documents including but not limited to: 1. General Provide all labor, materials, equipment, engineering, and supervision necessary to demolish the existing pedestrian bridge and construct a new pressure-treated (PT) wood pedestrian bridge, complete and operational, in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and approved engineering documents. 1.1) CONTRACTOR shall review all documents, specifications, plans and scope of work provided by Miami-Dade County Park & Recreation Construction Division for work to be completed. Furnish all labor, equipment and materials required. 1.2) Contractor shall be responsible for attaining all pertinent permits from any and all governing entities (i.e., City of Miami, Miami-Dade RER, Electrical, Plumbing, Miami-Dade Public Works, Miami-Dade Water & Sewer, DERM, Fire, FDEP, Florida Department of Health, South Florida Water Management, US Army Corps of Engineers, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, USCG etc.) needed to begin and complete all phases of work. 1.3) If applicable, prior to starting project, CONTRACTOR shall notify any departments having jurisdiction of the work being performed. 1.4) CONTRACTOR shall comply with Office of Resilience initiatives, to include Sea Level Rise. 1.5) Contractor shall coordinate all required inspections/tests and documentation required by any/all governing entities, i.e., City of Miami, Miami-Dade Building Department, etc. 1.6) It shall be the contractor’s responsibility to ensure that all required regulatory or proprietary permits are obtained prior to commencement of work. 2. Demolition Demolish the existing pedestrian bridge structure in its entirety. Remove and legally dispose of all demolished materials off-site. Protect adjacent landscaping, utilities, and improvements during demolition operations. 3. Foundations Furnish and install six (9) PT Ø12” piles, CAC 2.5 treatment. Minimum pile embedment: 10 feet Pile installation to be plumb, aligned, and in accordance with engineered drawings and geotechnical requirements. 4. Superstructure Install PT girders, size 3” × 12”, CAC .6. Install PT joists, size 3” × 10”, CAC .6, spaced at 16 inches on center Install PT decking, size 2” × 8”, CAC .6, securely fastened per manufacturer and engineering requirements. 5. Railings and Safety Features Provide and install 42-inch-high guardrails fabricated from stainless steel Type 316. Install PT 4” × 6” guardrail posts spaced at 4 feet on center. All railings to meet applicable building code and safety requirements for pedestrian bridges. 6. Environmental Protection Install FDOT Type II turbidity barrier, approximately 250 to 350 linear feet, as required to control sediment and protect adjacent waterways. Maintain turbidity controls for the duration of construction and remove upon completion in accordance with regulatory requirements. 7. Site Access and Ground Protection Provide ground protection for construction access using ten (10) sheets of PT ¾” plywood, size 4’ × 8’. Protection to cover approximately 40 linear feet of access route. Remove ground protection upon completion and restore affected areas. 8. Engineering and Permitting Support 9. Contractor shall be responsible for all damage to the Parks/Marina and private property due to the construction and shall make all necessary repairs at the contractors’ expense. Contractor shall complete all work within 90 days of “Notice to Proceed” date.
