The Project, including mobilization and demobilization, consists of furnishing and installing approximately 1,200 linear feet of 8-inch zinc-coated ductile iron pipe and fittings for sewage force main; five (5) plug valves; making one (1) tapping connection to an existing sewage force main including furnishing and installing a tapping sleeve (stainless steel) and tapping valve; furnishing
and constructing automatic air release valve assemblies for sewage force mains; furnishing and constructing manual air release valve assemblies for sewage force mains; additional suitable backfill, if needed; furnish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required for cleaning and testing the sewage force mains; obtaining the services of a tapping specialist; furnishing and installing Viton gaskets for force main in case contaminated areas are discovered; obtaining the services of a Certified Industrial Hygienist to develop site-specific health and safety plan; removal of existing asphalt pavement, sidewalk and sod; removal, transport, salvage, and legal disposal of demolition material; traffic control; temporary and permanent replacement of any pavements, landscaping and pavement markings damaged by the construction of the Project and all other appurtenant and miscellaneous items and work necessary for a complete, fully functional, and satisfactory installation.
The Project is in Section 10, Township 52 South, Range 40 East, Hialeah, Miami-Dade County, Florida.
Experience
1. In addition to the license requirements in Section 1.01, A above, the Bidder must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience, under its current business name (which can include the experience of key supervisory employees that would man the project), in the construction of roadway/ horizontal projects of similar scope and scale involving public right-of-way construction/ installation/ repair/ replacement of water main distribution systems and/or sanitary sewer main collection systems, and maintenance of vehicular traffic, supported by references for three (3) projects completed within the past five (5) years. Submitted reference Projects must demonstrate that the Bidder served as the Prime Contractor for the referenced Projects provided.
2. The Bidder must demonstrate that it has full-time personnel with the necessary experience to perform the Project's Scope of Work. This experience shall include work in successfully completed projects performed by the identified personnel whose bulk of work performed in the
public right-of-way is similar in detail to the Project's Scope of Work described in these Solicitation Documents. Demonstrate the experience requirement by:
a. Providing a detailed description of at least three (3) projects similar in detail to the Project's Scope of Work described in these Solicitation Documents and in which the Bidder's identified personnel is currently engaged or has completed within the past five (5) years.
Bid submission must be electronic, through the eBuilder Bid Portal, with a hard copy sent to WASD postmarked within one (1) business day of the bid submittal date, mailed to WASD [3071 SW 38th Avenue, Suite 107, Miami, FL 33146]
The original Bid bond Security (in the form of a bid bond or cashier’s check) MUST be delivered to WASD, at the address above, BEFORE the bids are opened. Failure to deliver the original will result in the bid submission being rejected as non-responsive.
Invited bidders should have received an Invitation to Bid with an Invitation Key linked to the Invitee’s email address. Upon request, an invitation can be sent to multiple email addresses within the same company. However, if multiple bids are submitted by the same company, ALL submitted bids will be rejected.
The bid set includes electronic bid instructions. Training on electronic bid submission is available every Monday from 9 – 10 and every Wednesday from 1 – 2. Email the Contracting Officer or [email protected] for further information or to schedule training on alternative dates.
The RFI cut-off date is five (5) business days prior to the bid due date.
Contractor must refer to the Request for Price Quotation (RPQ) and associated project documents for the detail Scope of Work.
