TITLE RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF MIAMI�S CODESIGNATION OF SOUTHWEST 20TH STREET FROM SOUTHWEST 36TH COURT TO SOUTHWEST 32ND PLACE AS �BOB VALLEDOR LANE� BODY WHEREAS, Robert �Bob� Valledor (�Mr. Valledor�) has resided and worked in the City of Miami for over 50 years; and WHEREAS, Mr. Valledor, as President of Valledor Co. Realtors, has led a preeminent firm in the provision of comprehensive real estate and property management services throughout the City of Miami, thus contributing significantly to the stability, development, and overall dynamism of the city�s real estate landscape; and WHEREAS, Mr. Valledor has consistently aided local nonprofits through both financial contributions and active volunteer service, demonstrating a deep commitment to enhancing the well-being of Miami�s underserved communities; and WHEREAS, through his participation in mentorship programs, Mr. Valledor�an example to numerous young professionals and emerging real estate agents�has helped to foster professional development and ethical standards in the industry; and WHEREAS, Mr. Valledor has also served on local civic boards, including the City�s Nuisance Abatement Board for approximately 15 years, and charitable boards, working with community partners to spearhead initiatives focused on affordable housing, economic opportunity, and youth outreach; and WHEREAS, his leadership in organizing annual community events�such as neighborhood clean-ups, first-time homebuyer seminars, and scholarship fundraisers�has brought together residents and business leaders in a shared effort to improve quality of life across Miami; and WHEREAS, Mr. Valledor has championed housing initiatives aimed at increasing access to affordable homeownership, advocating for programs that assist first-time buyers and promote equitable housing opportunities for Miami families; and WHEREAS, through his dedication of 30 years of his life to volunteering, mentoring, and sharing his love for the water with Shake-A-Leg Miami, a not-for-profit working with children and adults with physical, developmental and economic challenges in a marine environment, and utilizing Biscayne Bay to teach environmental lessons, therapeutic sailing, swimming and kayaking, Mr. Valledor�s impact continues to be felt by so many sailors, students, veterans and families whose lives he touched; and WHEREAS, in honor of Mr. Valledor�s longstanding dedication to economic development, social equity, and the overall enrichment of our community, the City Commission of the City of Miami passed Resolution No. R-26-0044 on January 22, 2026, which codesignated Southwest 20th Street from Southwest 36th Court to Southwest 32nd Place as �Bob Valledor Lane�; and WHEREAS, a copy of Resolution No. R-26-0044 is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami would like the County to install signage indicating this codesignation on County street signs and traffic signal mast arms; and� WHEREAS, this Board would also like to honor Mr. Valledor by approving the City of Miami�s codesignation of Southwest 20th Street from Southwest 36th Court to Southwest 32nd Place as �Bob Valledor Lane�; and WHEREAS, Southwest 20th Street from Southwest 36th Court to Southwest 32nd Place is a city road located in the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, this codesignation is in County Commission District 7, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board: Section 1. Approves the City of Miami�s codesignation of Southwest 20th Street from Southwest 36th Court to Southwest 32nd Place as �Bob Valledor Lane�. Section 2. Directs the Clerk of the Board to send certified copies of this resolution to the Mayor, City Commission, City Manager and City Clerk of the City of Miami, the United States Postal Service, the Traffic Signals and Signs Division of the Department of Transportation and Public Works, the Development Services Division of the Regulatory and Economic Resources Department, the City of Miami Police Department, and the City of Miami Fire Rescue Department. |
