REPORT: | Assistant County Attorney Terrance Smith advised the foregoing proposed resolution should be amended on handwritten page four, letter j., to read “Evette Francis,” and on handwritten page five, letter aa., to replace “Jennifer Lawson” with “Brian Kettenring,” and to add on handwritten page five the following: “bb. Fatima Perez to serve as a representative of the Hialeah Chamber of Commerce.” Hearing no other questions or comments, the Commission proceeded to vote on this proposed resolution as amended. | ||||||

TITLE RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE COMMUNITY AFFORDABLE HOUSING STRATEGIES ALLIANCE (CAHSA) BODY WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") enacted Section 17-149, et al. of the Code of Miami-Dade County (�Code�), which created the Community Affordable Housing Strategies Alliance (�CAHSA�); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 17-149(c) of the Code, the Chair of the Board shall contact each of the entities referenced in Section 17-149 (a) to obtain the names of interested and eligible persons and their resumes; and WHEREAS, the Chair is also required to forward the names of all prospective candidates to the Board for final approval; and WHEREAS, the candidates, whose resumes are attached hereto as Exhibit A, have been identified by the Chair; and WHEREAS, this Board desires to appoint the candidates recommended by the Chair to serve as members of CAHSA, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board hereby: Section 1. Appoints the following persons to serve as members of CAHSA: a. Matthew Schwartz to serve as a representative of Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce; b. Danny P. Felton, Sr. to serve as a representative of Miami Dade Chamber of Commerce; c. Commissioner Jesus Santana to serve as a representative of Miami-Dade League of Cities; d. Gail Williams to serve as a representative of Housing Opportunities Project for Excellence, Inc. (HOPE, Inc.); e. Stephen Lewis to serve as a representative of Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc.; f. Jaap Donath to serve as a representative of The Beacon Council; g. Dario Moreno to serve as a representative of Florida International University; h. Daniella S. Levin to serve as a representative of Human Services Coalition of Dade County; i. Lisa V. Mele to serve as a representative of Alliance For The Aging; j. Evett Francis to serve as a representative of Fannie Mae; k. Charles Byrd to serve as a representative of Tools For Change; l. Millie Membiela to serve as a representative of Miami Dade Affordable Housing Foundation; m. Marcos Regalado to serve as a representative of Miami-Dade Equal Opportunity Board; n. Ann Cumbie to serve as a representative of Miami Business Forum; o. H. Daniel Vincent to serve as a representative of Community Partnership For The Homeless; p. Ben Burton to serve as a representative of Miami-Dade Partnership for Recovery; q. Ronald L. Book to serve as a representative of Miami-Dade Homeless Trust; r. Mark Buchbinder to serve as a representative of Alliance For Human Services; s. Diane Strozier to serve as a representative of Overall Tenant Advisory Council (OTAC); t. Greicy Lovin to serve as a representative of Metro Miami Action Plan Trust (MMAP); u. Ashley Bosch to serve as a representative of Builders Association of South Florida; v. Jose A. Font to serve as a representative of Latin Chamber of Commerce (CAMACOL); w. Gonzalo Deramon to serve as a representative of a For-Profit Affordable Housing Developer; x. Augusto Gil to serve as a representative of Latin Builders Association; y. Robert Thompson to serve as a representative of the Coalition of Florida Farmers� Organization (COFFO); z. Luis P. Rabell to serve as a representative of persons actively engaged in housing industry in Miami-Dade County; aa. Brian Kettenring to serve as a representative of the Local ACORN - State Chapter ACORN; and bb. Fatima Perez to serve as the representative of the Hialeah Chamber of Commerce. Section 2. Waives the residency requirement of Sections 2-11.38 of the Code of Miami-Dade County by a two-third (2/3) vote of its membership to permit Ronald L. Book to serve as a member of CAHSA. The foregoing resolution was sponsored by Chairman Bruno A. Barreiro and offered by Commissioner , who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Commissioner and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: |
