Scope of Work: (Contractor must obtain and submit all permits prior to performing any work). CONTRACTOR TO FURNISH THE NECESSARY MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND LABOR TO ACCOMPLISH THE FOLLOWING: A. Layout of Work: The work in general consists of the removal and disposal of a 15’x45’ modular single wide trailer from the MDFR North Shop. The Modular unit will be isolated from all utilities prior to the bidding process. (Electrical, Plumbing, Low Voltage, ect.) B. Scope of Work: 1. Dismantling / Demolition: i. Contractor shall provide appropriate machinery and equipment to break down and dispose of the unit in a safe manner. ii. Contractor shall provide all appropriate dumpsters and transporters for debris removal. iii. Contractor shall ensure that all debris and waste is disposed of properly in accordance with local, state, and federal laws. iv. Contractor shall remove and dispose of all the tie down strapping. Any holes left in the pavement or concrete shall be repaired and leveled. v. Contractor shall not disturb or damage the surrounding Equipment, Buildings, and Fire Apparatus units. vi. Contractor shall ensure the demolition site and the path of debris removal is left in a clean condition and free from hazards that can cause injury or damage to vehicles. C. Project / Site Conditions 1. Contractor shall establish a safety zone perimeter around the worksite with appropriate signage and barriers to restrict access. 2. Work to be performed will be during normal business days / hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Exceptions to this schedule can only be made with the prior written approval of MDFR Project Manager or Designee. 3. The premises will be occupied during the project period. The Contractor shall cooperate with staff in scheduling work to minimize conflict and to facilitate building usage at all times. 4. Extreme care shall be taken to safeguard all existing facilities, site amenities, windows, and vehicles on or around the job site. Damage to public and/or private property shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and shall be repaired and/or replaced at no additional cost to MDFR. 5. Contractor shall be responsible for providing all necessary equipment to complete the job. This includes but is not limited to, ladders, tarps, man lifts, extension cords, etc. 6. The Contractor is solely responsible for the security of any materials or equipment left on-site. The Contractor assumes full liability for any losses resulting from theft, vandalism, or other causes. Any such losses must be repaired or replaced by the Proposer at no additional cost to MDFR. 7. Upon completion, the Contractor shall be responsible for leaving the job site free of all debris and in an orderly state. Clean all floors, walls, doors, windows walks, paving, and site features of dirt and other debris. 8. MDFR shall conduct a final walkthrough with the Contractor to confirm the site is free from all hazards and is ready for its next use. 9. Any delays on the construction timeline needs to be immediately communicated to the MDFR project manager with a corrective action plan. D. SCHEDULE 1. The Bidder shall maintain the schedule and indicate whether tasks are on schedule, or behind schedule. All work must be completed 30 days from notice to proceed.
