Attorney Profile

Christian Fernandez-Andes joined the Miami-Dade County Attorney's Office in 2021. In 2022, he took a brief hiatus from his role at the County Attorney's Office to serve as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Sarah S. Vance of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Christian returned to the Office in 2023, and he now represents PortMiami in transactional matters and disputes. Christian is also a member of the Office's intergovernmental affairs team, where he advises on the County's efforts in Tallahassee, focusing on state appropriations and the budget process. He also provides legal advice to assist the County's opposition or support of bills filed by members of the Florida Legislature.

In addition, Christian represents the Board of County Commissioners, advising the Board on legislative issues and preparing ordinances and resolutions for Commissioners. He also represents the County in personnel appeals resulting from discipline of County employees.

Prior to joining the Office, Christian graduated from Harvard Law School, cum laude, where he was Managing Editor of the Harvard Latin American Law Review and a Senior Editor of the Harvard National Security Journal. He also participated in the Veterans Legal Clinic as well as the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic. Prior to law school, Christian earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami in Accounting, magna cum laude, with a second major in History.
