Erica Zaron defends civil rights cases in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida on behalf of the County as well as County employees, including officers with the Miami-Dade Police Department and Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department.  She has had numerous jury trials in federal court.

Additionally, Ms. Zaron has drafted appellate briefs and argued appellate issues before the Third District Court of Appeal, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Florida Supreme Court. Erica also runs the Office's mentoring and orientation program for new attorneys.

From 2001 through 2005, Erica was an associate at Holland & Knight LLP where she litigated commercial and employment discrimination cases.
