Standing Committees

Nominating Committee
Recommends to the CRB and to the Board of County Commissioners qualified individuals for appointment to the CRB.

Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Committee
Brings together criminal justice professionals and community leaders of good will to establish an agenda for enhanced relations.

Social Media Committee
Addresses issues related to social media and makes recommendations to the CRB about ways the CRB may utilize social media to enhance communication with constituents.

Fair Immigration Committee
Assists Miami-Dade elected officials and grassroots leaders with initiatives seeking equity in immigration policies and practices.

AD HOC Committees

CRB 50th Anniversary Commemoration Ad hoc Committee
The CRB is working to implement a series of events that will educate our community, especially our youth, about the many important contributions that the CRB has made in the history of Miami-Dade County and leave a legacy of information for future generations to embrace.

Ad hoc Planning Committee: Youth and Community Engagement
The CRB, through its Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Committee is working in partnership with other community and civil rights organizations and leaders, is working to convene a series of activities aimed at reducing tensions and building bridges of understanding and respect in communities most impacted by the death of Trayvon Martin. Implementing an Action Plan to Promote Non-Violence in Response to the Trayvon Martin Trial and Court Proceedings.

Ad hoc Planning Committee on Hate Crimes Legislation and Resources
The CRB is working with civil rights and advocacy organizations to convene a community event that will bring law enforcement leaders and community activists together with government and civic resources to raise awareness and encourage the enforcement of federal, state and local laws against hate crime.

Civility and Accountability in Elections Working Group
Working group to refine strategies and recommendations for enhancing civility and accountability in Miami-Dade Elections.
