Community Relations Board
The primary mission of the Community Relations Board is to intervene and contain community tensions, as quickly as possible.
The secondary mission of the Community Relations Board is:
- to work proactively to identify and relieve intergroup conflicts before crises arise
- to develop bridges of understanding and support programs in the community
- to foster understanding, communication, and mutual respect
- to develop and support local or city based Community Relations Boards throughout the county
- to assure that resources are in place to respond to community crisis

A rash of fatal shootings and violent injuries of children and young people in Miami-Dade County has everyone on edge. Teens and young adults have special knowledge and insights about what can and should be done to make our communities safer. Join us to hear from our community’s young people and to explore ways that we can work together to empower and protect us all.

The most pressing community relations priority in Miami-Dade County right now is the need to reduce tensions and improve trust between our residents and police. Share your insights and proposals with a panel of Community Relations Board and law enforcement leaders.

The Community Relations Advisory Board has several committees which are reflective of the issues and concerns of its residents.
