Unsafe Structures Board

The Unsafe Structures Board (USB) is quasi-judicial advisory committee that reviews the decisions of Building Officials regarding buildings considered unsafe.

The Board generally meets once a month to hear cases submitted by the Building Officials, through appeals requested by homeowners or other interested parties. Miami-Dade County advertises the hearing and issues the notifications of the hearing to all interested parties on the scheduled cases.

The decisions of the Unincorporated Miami-Dade Building Official regarding residential single-family residences and duplex are considered separately by the Unsafe Structures Appeal Panel, which is an administrative hearing body that reviews unsafe structure violations in the unincorporated area for those types of structures.
