Maintenance Alert

The Miami-Dade County Portal will be undergoing maintenance starting at 11 p.m. Saturday, May 3 and for all of Sunday, May 4. Intermittent outages may be experienced. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thank you for your patience as we improve our online services.

For-Hire Transportation

Advisory Group Meetings

View agenda and minutes for Taxicab Advisory Group (TAG) and Limousine Advisory Group (LAG) meetings.

For-Hire Chauffeur Training

Individuals who attend our for-hire chauffeur classes are required to take and pass an exam administered by the Business Affairs Division.

File a For-Hire Transportation Complaint

For-Hire Transportation Complaints relate to complaints about the for-hire transportation industry. Please note that this does not include Movers and Towers, which fall under the second general category. It also does not include the public transportation services. Consumers filing online complaints are asked to use the last four digits of their home telephone number as a Temporary Complaint Number and to write this number on any supporting documentation they send to the Mediation Center. A permanent number will be assigned after the complaint is received. Information contained in complaints becomes public information and will be forwarded to the business as part of the dispute resolution process.

For-Hire Vehicle Inspections

The Code of Miami-Dade County requires that any company or individual who seeks to provide transportation for compensation be licensed, their drivers trained and insured, and their vehicles registered, insured and inspected.

Industry Notices

Keep yourself informed with important industry notices.

A taxicab is a for-hire motor vehicle which transports eight passengers or less (exclusive of the driver) and provides either street hail or pre-arranged taxicab service. It is equipped with a taximeter, and the passenger controls the route and destination.
