International Trade Consortium Board Committees

  • The Executive Committee
    The Chair of the ITC Board shall chair this committee, and its other members now are -- The ITC Board Vice Chair; the ITC Board Secretary (elected); the ITC Board Treasurer (elected); the representatives of Miami International Airport, the Port of Miami, and the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau; and the Chairs of the Strategic Management and Planning, Internal Management and Marketing, Trade Promotion, and Sister Cities and Consular Corps committees.
     
    The Executive Committee is empowered to act on behalf of the ITC Board on all matters when the full Board cannot meet; it shall also be responsible for implementing ITC policies. Its decisions will be subject to ratification by the entire ITC Board of Directors. Committee quorum shall consist of five committee members.
     
  • The Strategic Management and Planning Committee
    This committee shall replace the former Budget and Finance and Strategic Planning Committees. This committee shall recommend the annual Strategic Plan, including measurable objectives that establish the agency's future direction, and develop ITC's annual budget for final ITC Board approval. The approved budget shall be submitted to the Mayor for consideration and subsequent submission to the Board of County Commissioners.
     
    The committee shall also monitor the ITC operating budget and ensure the successful implementation of the agency's annual program objectives. The committee chair may at his/her discretion request the participation on a non voting basis of other interested stakeholders. Committee quorum shall consist of three committee members.
      
  • The Internal Management and Marketing Committee
    This committee will continue to operate as it did in the past. This committee shall recommend revisions to the ITC Board by-laws and for all internal policies and procedures relating to the operation and management of the ITC Board.
     
    The committee shall recommend marketing programs, including the development of a speaker's bureau in support of the agency's outreach initiatives. The members shall endeavor to provide value added support for committee activities. The committee chair may at his/her discretion request the participation on a non voting basis of other interested stakeholders. Committee quorum shall consist of three committee members. 

  • The Trade Promotion Committee
    This committee shall replace the former Trade Initiatives Ad Hoc Committees (Africa, Asia, European and Middle Eastern, and Western Hemisphere). This committee shall recommend countries for trade promotion activities, including countries for any future inbound or outbound business development missions.
     
    The committee shall also ensure coordination with other local economic development agencies. The members shall endeavor to provide value added support for incoming missions. The committee chair may at his/her discretion request the participation on a non voting basis of other interested stakeholders. Committee quorum shall consist of three committee members. 

  • The Sister Cities and Consular Corps Committee
    This is a new ITC Board committee originally approved as the Sister Cities Committee. This committee shall recommend activities for the Sister Cities Program. It shall also promote a closer working relationship between Miami-Dade County and the Consular Corps and function as its liaison.
     
    The committee shall recommend new sister cities affiliations and emeritus status for those that are inactive. It shall also work with relevant community agencies in recommending programs that enhance international cultural understanding. The ex officio members of the Board shall also be members of this committee. Its members shall endeavor to provide value added support for Sister Cities activities. The committee chair may at his/her discretion request the participation on a non voting basis of other interested stakeholders. Committee quorum shall consist of three committee members.
