Empowering the Village to Serve Black Male Youth: Black Male Youth Mental Health Conference
Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT) presented the Black Male Youth Mental Health Conference on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. The goal of the conference was to provide mental health professionals with information on best practices that will equip them with tools to produce positive outcomes in the lives of black male youth. Areas that were focused included: education, emotional health, community, and family engagement.
The conference was the first of a three part series that includes two post event forums for parents, mentors, and youth. Those forums will take place on May 13, 2014 at the North Dade Regional Library and on May 15, 2014 at the South Dade Regional Library. Both events will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. , and include a resource area where participants can find out where to go to seek assistance.
Now is the time to cultivate solutions for this pivotal group of young men. The conference and forums are free to the general public.Back to Top Page Last Edited: Thu May 8, 2014 2:58:34 PM
