Online Voter Registration (OVR)
Effective October 1, 2017, Online Voter Registration provides another option for voter registration and updates to existing records. The State of Florida joined over 30 states in the U.S. to offer this method of voter registration. OVR is designed to:
- Verify credentials (i.e. eligibility, Driver’s License/State ID, Social Security Number and issue date)
- Obtain most recent signature from Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
Once validated, records will be sent electronically to the Elections Department for processing. If your information cannot be validated, you will be required to print the application from OVR and mail it to our office.
Keep in mind when completing the application process that registration books close 29 days before an election. To ensure your application is processed properly, be sure to follow all instruction while using Online Voter Registration.
It is important that voters always keep their signature updated with the Elections Department. If a voter’s signature has changed since he/she made changes to their driver’s license, please print the application and sign it. Mail the completed application to our office.
Signature updates must be completed no later than the start of canvassing of vote by mail ballots, which occurs no earlier than the 15th day before Election Day.
All printed applications must be mailed to the address below:
