What's New at Fire Rescue

MDFR participates in the launch of a new public awareness campaign for A Safe Haven for Newborns

The Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue Department joined, Nick Silverio, founder of A Save Haven for Newborns, Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera, Sen. Rene Garcia and other state and community leaders for the launch a new public awareness campaign, which aims at informing pregnant young women giving birth to unwanted newborn babies about a last resort option.

Reduce the risk of snakebites with snake safety tips

While most envenomations are accidental, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s (MDFR) Venom Response Team provides recommendations to reduce your risk of being bitten this summer.

A handy, downloadable brochure also provides a list of some Florida snakes with information to help you identify venomous and nonvenomous snakes.

Firefighters Against Distracted Driving!

 A growing concern in our community today, is the increased number of motor vehicle accidents, cause by a distracted driver. With the help from Miami-Dade County's fire rescue and Jackson Health's Ryder Trauma Center, the city of Hialeah Fire Department produced this video, to create awareness to the real dangers behind distracted driving. Don't be distracted!
