County departments wishing to request a intern should complete the Internship Request form Adobe Reader and contact their HR Recruitment Specialist.

Schools interested in developing internship opportunities for their students should e-mail the Miami-Dade County Internship Coordinator.

Internships generally last one semester coinciding with the school schedule. Some high school internships are created for the school year. Miami-Dade County will accommodate student and school requests for longer or shorter periods.

The Mayor's Executive Internship Program offers juniors and seniors in our colleges and universities the opportunity to meet the County's leadership and get a first-hand look at County government. The program provides a 15 week internship opportunity for 20 selected students. Students will need to dedicate 16 hours per week to the program and will be positioned under a Department Director. 

College Internships

The County's college internship program provides college students with the opportunity to work on special projects and/or assignments with teams of professionals in their chosen field.

High School Internships

Miami-Dade County's high school internship program gives high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to explore career opportunities in a wide variety of County occupations while receiving professional guidance and mentorship.

Urban Fellows

The Urban Fellows Program aims to enrich graduate student’s learning experience by introducing them to Miami-Dade County’s government in action. Students will participate in well-planned and organized practical projects that match their educational objectives, and in turn provide the county with a quality research and suggestions.

CareerSource South Florida's "Ready To Work - Employment Program"

CareerSource South Florida's Ready to Work Employment Program provides young adults, ages 18-24 years of age, the opportunity to enhance their work-readiness skills while earning an income. Requirements include residing in Miami-Dade County, being a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S., not a high school student and income eligible.
