County departments wishing to request a intern should complete the Internship Request form and contact their HR Recruitment Specialist.
Schools interested in developing internship opportunities for their students should e-mail the Miami-Dade County Internship Coordinator.
Internships generally last one semester coinciding with the school schedule. Some high school internships are created for the school year. Miami-Dade County will accommodate student and school requests for longer or shorter periods.

The Mayor's Executive Internship Program offers juniors and seniors in our colleges and universities the opportunity to meet the County's leadership and get a first-hand look at County government. The program provides a 15 week internship opportunity for 20 selected students. Students will need to dedicate 16 hours per week to the program and will be positioned under a Department Director.
The County's college internship program provides college students with the opportunity to work on special projects and/or assignments with teams of professionals in their chosen field.
High School Internships
Miami-Dade County's high school internship program gives high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to explore career opportunities in a wide variety of County occupations while receiving professional guidance and mentorship.
The Urban Fellows Program aims to enrich graduate student’s learning experience by introducing them to Miami-Dade County’s government in action. Students will participate in well-planned and organized practical projects that match their educational objectives, and in turn provide the county with a quality research and suggestions.
Miami-Dade County Youth Training and Employment Program
The Miami-Dade County Youth Training and Employment program is part of Mayor Carlos A. Giménez’ Miami-Dade Education Partnership. The program, a partnership with South Florida Workforce, will provide jobs, work-readiness skills, and an opportunity to earn a paycheck, for low-income youth ages 18 to 21. Selected participants will work in entry-level positions in the County and earn $10.00 an hour. The program will run through October, 2013. Interested youth may apply at South Florida Workforce.
