Municipal Advisory Committees

Municipal Advisory Committees (MACs) are organizations composed of elected or appointed members whose purpose is to study and give advice to the County Commission regarding the creation of a proposed municipality. The Board of County Commissioners creates Municipal Advisory Committees.

MACs are charged with studying the feasibility of incorporating a specific area into a municipality. All meetings are free and open to the public. Residents are encouraged to attend the meetings to find out more information and/or express their opinions. Meetings are also posted on the County Calendar.

Biscayne Gardens

In 2003, a resolution creating and establishing the Biscayne Gardens Area Municipal Advisory Committee and its duties was implemented.

Fontainebleau

In 2004, a resolution creating and establishing the Fisher Island Area Municipal Advisory Committee and its duties was implemented.

North Central Dade

In 2001, a resolution creating and establishing the North Central Dade Municipal Advisory Committee and its duties was implemented.

Northeast Dade

In 2003, a resolution creating and establishing the Northeast Dade Municipal Advisory Committee and its duties was implemented.

South A

In 2013, the ordinance creating and establishing the South Municipal Advisory Committee -- A was prepared.

South B

In 2013, the ordinance creating and establishing the South Municipal Advisory Committee -- B was prepared.

West End North

In 2013, the ordinance creating and establishing the West End North Municipal Advisory Committee (formerly West Kendall Section One) was prepared.

West End South

In 2013, the ordinance creating and establishing the West End South Municipal Advisory Committee (formerly West Kendall Section Three) was prepared.
