Methods of discovery and documentation relating to death investigation, crime scene, and general photography are covered in detail along with related biomedical and forensic photography techniques.    Basic photographic needs and considerations, methods that reach the cutting edge of investigative procedures are extensively covered.  In carefully presented, simplified terms, you will learn the optical principles and properties of light that lead to excellent photographic documentation.  You will also learn to use the concise, systematic methods of recording information with the use of studio and laboratory equipment.

  • Classroom lectures will be supplemented with carefully devised crime scenes to develop your skills in various lighting situations.
  • Actual postmortem examinations will be documented in close-up detail in the autopsy suites.
  • Practicum's will also utilize state-of-the-art macroscopic photography.
  • Participation in experiments in the high-speed laboratory to record images normally invisible to the human eye.
  • Receive information in the choice of equipment, lighting & exposure techniques.
  • Use ultraviolet & infrared techniques to record images normally invisible to human eye.
  • If you plan to attend the seminar, make sure to complete the Student Information Form Adobe Reader and send it in addition with your registration form.
