AfterSchool Programs

School’s back, but the fun doesn’t stop when the bell rings! Miami-Dade Parks' afterschool programs are here to keep kids active, engaged and living a park life all afternoon. Afterschool programs run from Aug. 13 – June 3, 2027, at various park locations throughout Miami-Dade County. These programs are also available for One-Day Camps on Teacher Planning Days, except on legal holidays.

Enroll now in Miami-Dade Parks Fit2Play Afterschool Program- a program designed to help youth ages 6–14 thrive through physical activity, nutrition education, and outdoor fun, from Aug. 13 – June 3, 2027, throughout Miami-Dade County.

The Children's Trust Afterschool Program

We have after-school programs funded by The Children's Trust throughout Miami-Dade County for youth and teens! Program curricula include areas of health and wellness, arts and culture, STEM, and Sports. Our Children's Trust-funded programs are FREE weekly, but a $15 non-refundable registration fee is required. There is no registration deadline, but each programming site has a registration capacity.

Registration is now open and will remain open until capacity is reached. Each after-school program has a program registration capacity based on our Children's Trust Grant. Once the participant capacity has been reached, applicants can opt to join the waitlist for a specific park.

Miami-Dade Parks offers the Therapeutic Recreation & Inclusion (TRI) Afterschool Program, a specialized program for youth with disabilities in grades K-5, as well as for teens in grades 6-12.

Led by certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists, this afterschool program offers fun, inclusive activities and social support to help your child grow, connect and thrive.

Therapeutic Recreation & Inclusion (TRI) offers free after-school program at four (4) different locations and one (1) fee-based program for only a $15 non-refundable registration fee, plus a $45 weekly fee. These programs are led by caring, trained professionals who know how to bring the fun while supporting each child’s unique strengths. From confidence-boosting games to friendship-filled afternoons, kids enjoy activities tailored just for them. It’s more than just play—it’s a place to grow, connect and Live a Park Life every day after school.
