Summer Camps

Register here

Summer Camps will be held June 8 - August 14 Monday - Friday, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., with early drop-off available at 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up at 6 p.m. Read the press release.

Registration is available at any park with a summer camp. Parents can also register their child for most of the summer camps online. However, families in need of financial assistance must register and apply for assistance in person at their selected park.

Summer Camps are also inclusive and managed by Miami-Dade Parks’ Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Learn more about accessibility at Miami-Dade Parks.

General Program Camps

At $40–90 per week, plus a one-time annual registration fee of $12, Miami-Dade Parks’ General Camps for kids ages 6–14 offer rare affordability for premium programming in Miami’s crowded and competitive summer camp market.

In addition, financial assistance, through a partnership with The Children’s Trust, and scholarships are offered to those who qualify. Camps are fully supervised, offering parents peace of mind, while their child enjoys a full recreational schedule with fitness activities, sports, arts and crafts, nature encounters, quiet games, and field trips.

The camps also include the enjoyment of learning Miami-Dade Parks’ Fit2Play™ outdoor-fitness-fun activities that engage kids in active games promoting fitness and nutrition in fun ways that inspire learning and create healthy eating and exercise habits. Fit2Play™ was developed by Miami-Dade Parks in partnership with the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine.

Fit2Play Camps

Fit2Play"Fit2Play" Camps focus on a variety of activities from fitness, sports, and arts-and-crafts to games and exciting field trips. The cost for these camps is $40 – $90 per week, depending on the program, plus a one-time annual registration fee of $12. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

Each day’s session includes Sports, Play and Active Recreation for Kids (SPARK) is an evidence-based, outcome-oriented active recreation component of Miami-Dade Parks Fit2Play programs, dedicated to improving the quantity and quality of physical activity that children engage in. It is designed to develop and improve motor skills, movement knowledge, and social and personal skills.

Cheerleading/Dance Camp

Girls (ages 6 - 14) will learn jumps, chants, and modern and jazz dance techniques. Program includes field trips.

Basketball Camp

Trained staff will teach team and individual play using defensive and offensive drills to improve skills and knowledge of the game. Program is for kids ages 8 - 14 and includes field trips and tournaments.

Learn-to-Swim

Miami-Dade County pools are open for swimming, fun, exercise programs and Learn-to-Swim programs, which are taught by certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Learn-to-Swim classes include:

  • Parent and Tot (Ages 2-3)
  • Preschool Aquatics (Ages 4-5)
  • Levels 1-6 (Ages 6-18) and Adults

Fees vary for each facility. Pool lifts are available at all Miami-Dade County pools. For more information or to register, find the pool of your interest.

Summer Arts Camp

“GEM” (Girls Empowerment & Mentoring) Summer Arts Camp for Girls
GEM Summer Camps for Girls at The Women’s Park and Raices Hispanic Cultural Arts Center at Miller Drive Park focus on the role of women in the development of our community and the arts. Participants will enjoy fun and exciting classes and workshops: Visual and Performing Arts (Dance, Music, Painting, Theatre, and photography); Journalism; and Women’s History. The GEM program challenges and inspires girls to develop and improve their communication, leadership and artistic skills.

Camp Manatee

Camp Manatee (ages 6 -14) is a nature-based camp that teaches youth about the wonders of the environment through interactive games, activities and field trips.

Camp on the Sea

Marine science, South Florida ecology, and aquatic adventures are the focus of this unique camp. Campers (ages 12-17) will explore the coastal waters and off-shore coral reefs through snorkeling, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding activities. Participants must be able to pass a mandatory swim test. This camp runs the first six weeks of the summer break.

When: June 8 - July 17
Where: A.D. Barnes Park
Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Price: The cost is $175/week, plus a one-time annual registration fee of $12.

Fishing Camps

Developed in partnership with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, these camps are designed for kids (ages 9-15) who love fishing and want to improve their fishing skills. They'll learn about fish biology, safe boating practices and get fishing tips. Camps take place at the various locations listed below will follow a progression from freshwater to saltwater fishing.

The cost for each freshwater fishing camp is $145/week for any of the freshwater camps. For more information, call 305-662-4124.

ZooMiami Camp

Zoofari Summer Camp at Zoo Miami is designed to immerse children (ages 4-13) into the world of wildlife and conservation. It’s a fun-filled learning adventure that includes live animal presentations, craft projects, zookeeper talks, wildlife enrichment activities, visits to exhibits, recreational games, and more!

When: June 15 - Aug. 7
Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Price: $190/week for Zoological Society of Florida (ZSF) members and $210/week for non-members.

Deering Estate at Cutler Camps

Eco Explorers
Campers (ages 6-8) will enjoy exploring South Florida habitats with weekly themed camps that consist of two field trips (to the movies and pool, Miami-Dade County parks, national parks, museums, cultural arts facilities, and more) and three days of nature-based learning with plenty of adventures ranging from hiking and biking to eco-art projects.

When: June 8 - August 21 
Where: Deering Estate at Cutler
Time: 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Late pick-up is available from 5 - 6 p.m., for an additional $10/day
Price: Cost is $165 for a five-day session.

Expedition Deering
Campers (ages 9-14) will enjoy exploring South Florida habitats with weekly themed camps that consist of two field trips to the movies, pool, national parks, museums, cultural arts facilities and three days of nature-based learning with plenty of adventures ranging from hiking and biking to eco-art projects; plus kayaking, canoeing and snorkeling adventures.

When: June 8 - August 21 
Where: Deering Estate at Cutler
Time: 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Late pick-up is available from 5 - 6 p.m., for an additional $10/day
Price: Cost is $190 for a five-day session.

Junior Naturalist Program
The Junior Naturalist program is a five day training course that encourages youth to take an active role in environmental stewardship and education and prepares them to serve as peer mentors. The course includes certifications in American Red Cross First Aid and Adult/Child CPR in addition to an introduction to basic canoeing, South Florida ecosystems, and Leave No Trace. This counselor- in-training program provide service learning hours to participants and prepare the Junior Naturalist for experiences, internships, and other opportunities in environmental studies, natural sciences, nature based recreation, and volunteerism.

Two camp sessions:

  • June 8 -12, from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • June 15 - 10, from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Country Club of Miami Junior Golf Camp

GolfJunior golfers ages 8-15 will be instructed by PGA Professional, Larry Levow, who's been featured on the Golf Channel and has taught golfers of all levels including PGA Tour players.

Camp runs from June 9 - August 28 (Tuesday - Friday) at the Country Club of Miami and is offered in two sessions: 

  • Full-day 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Half-day 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

The cost is $235/week for full-day sessions and $155/week for half-day sessions. Price includes instruction, golf clubs, practice balls, and short course play. Students must provide their own lunch.

Crandon Golf Academy Summer Camp

Junior golfers ages 4-15 will be instructed by PGA Professional, Alex Fernandez and his staff.

Camp runs from June 8 - August 21 at the Crandon Golf Course and is offered in two sessions: 

  • Full-day 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Half-day 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

The cost is $500/week for full-day sessions and $250/week for half-day sessions.

Other Summer Camps at Crandon Golf Course:

  • Elite Star Golf Camp for junior golfers ages 10 and older with competitive golf tournament experience. Full-day sessions cost $600/week (lunch included)
  • Multi-Sport Camp for ages 4-15 that includes golf, tennis, kayaking, soccer, and fishing. Full-day sessions will cost $500/week (lunch included).

Palmetto Golf Academy Summer Camp

Junior golfers ages 8 - 15 will be instructed by PGA Professional, Scott Jones and his staff. The curriculum of this camp covers: Full swing with video analysis, short game, putting, mini golf, golf course orientation, rules and etiquette.

Camp runs from June 15 - August 14 at the Palmetto Golf Course and is offered in two sessions: 

  • Full-day 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Half-day 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
