Deering Estate
Deering Estate is one of Miami's premier landmarks, highlighting the best of South Florida's historic architecture and natural environment. It is home to an array of cultural and ecological features, including eight distinct ecosystems and the historic Stone
House (1922) and Richmond Cottage (1896).
As part of the Biscayne Bay Important Bird Area and the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail - a 2,000 mile network of over 500 premier wildlife viewing sites - ongoing surveys have documented more than 170 resident and migratory bird species
Deering Estate is a historic house museum, cultural and ecological field station, and a national landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places, owned by the State of Florida and managed by the Miami-Dade County, Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.
Deering Estate is designated as one of seven Miami-Dade County "Heritage Parks," which have a vital role in our community's history, environment, and in providing recreation and cultural experiences.
Each year, Deering Estate produces a variety of signature events and programs such as the Moonlight & Music Valentine's Day Concert, Deering Seafood Festival, Ghost Tours and holiday events.
