Arts and Culture

The Arts and Culture Division offers a diverse array of programs which enable us to provide numerous volunteer opportunities. Whether it's assisting at one of the performances, teaching a child to play an instrument, maintaining the grounds at one of the facilities or raising money for the arts, the reward comes in knowing you are enriching someone else's life and the community in which you reside. The Arts and Culture Division welcomes you as volunteers!

Golf Courses

The Golf Division offers volunteering opportunities at the golf courses as starters and rangers. If you are interested in volunteering in one of our facilities, please call the contact the golf course of your choice.

Marinas

Our Marina Division is looking for volunteers to assist in the overall maintenance and appearance of the marina. 

All marinas are full-service with amenities that range from waterfront restaurants, beaches and picnic areas to full-service marinas with wet slips, dry storage, boat ramps, transient dockage, fuel, bait & tackle, boat rentals, diving and landing facilities, and much more.

There are many areas that need special attention and volunteers can assist tremendously in keeping our marinas clean and beautiful.  Please contact your marina of choice directly for additional information.

Natural Areas Management (NAM)

The NAM division is looking for volunteers to help to restore Natural Areas in Miami-Dade County! They need help in protecting and restoring rare native habitats by removing exotic vegetation, enhancing trails, restoring native vegetation, and conducting clean-up activities throughout the county.

If interested in participating in any of these activities, you can call the information line for additional details at 305-257-0933 ext. 227 or visit the Environmentally Endangered Lands Program for additional information.

Disability Services

Parks Disability Services has many important and interesting activities for volunteers.  If you are interested in sharing your time with Parks Disability Services, please review the programs we offer on this web page and call the contact person for the program you are interested in volunteering for.   Volunteers should be age 18 or older, pass a background check and interview with the manager of the program they are interested in. 

The Disability Services Division offers summer camps and after-school programs for children and adults ages 6 to 22 with disabilities. The programs are Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Zoo Miami

Volunteers are truly the pride of Zoo Miami and the Zoological Society of Florida (ZSF) - they provide valuable assistance in almost every area of our operations. Our volunteers are a dedicated and fun-loving group of people who find fulfillment in helping our organizations achieve their mission of wildlife conservation and education. These committed individuals donate over 30,000 hours a year in a variety of capacities. That's the equivalent of more than 14 full time employees!
