Citizen Participation
Community Action and Human Services' Citizen Participation Program provides a "bottoms-up approach" to civic involvement that meaningfully and respectfully incorporates the ideas and input of the residents in target areas through Community Advisory Committees (CACs).
Community Advisory Committees
The citizen participation process encourages residents to become involved in their respective Community Advisory Committees. The CAC members are elected by and represent the residents in their communities.
Election Orientation Meetings
Elections will be held in 2013 for Community Advisory Committee members. Residents interested in voting in the election or running for candidacy are invited to attend Election Orientation Meetings.
Scholarship Program
The Community Advisory Committees award an annual scholarship in the amount of $1,500 to an individual from their target area who is currently enrolled in a college or vocational program, or has plans to attend college or a vocational school in the coming Fall.
This scholarship initiative was developed to provide financial support to assist individuals from the communities served by the CAC an opportunity to attain their educational goals. The scholarship is open to individuals between the ages of 16-25 years old. To apply, please complete the application and return it to the CAC Staff representative no later than March 29, 2012.
