Miami-Dade County is a winner
Miami-Dade County is one of the top ten winners in the 2010 Digital Counties Survey, sponsored by The Center for Digital Government, National Association of Counties (NaCo), Government Technology magazine, and the Digital Communities program. The Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute providing leaders with assistance to effectively incorporate new technologies.
The 2010 focus looked at results through technology in light of the economic downturn. MDC's award recognizes our ability to bring value quickly and consistently with strategies and infrastructures that are flexible and adaptive. Kudos to the Information Technology Department for a job well done!
ITD wins Best of Category 2010 Achievement Award
The Information Technology Department is very proud to announce it has received the prestigious National Association of County's Best in Category award of IBM Cognos 8 on System z/Linux, which offers the technology tools for business intelligence available to all departments within Miami-Dade County. Business intelligence is the technology and practice of applying information to make decisions. This is the first time Miami-Dade County has won a Best in Category award!
In addition to Cognos ITD has won five additional recognition awards. The winning projects are:
- Constituent Identity Synchronization provides a seamless integrated customer service experience on the County's web portal
- e-Notify System enables judicial court notifications, subpoenas and documented response acknowledgements to be sent via the Internet
- ITD Succession Planning System identifies employee skill sets and professional development for future department staffing needs
- GIS Layer Verification Process provides control checks of GIS production layer updates
- Web Address Search enables customers to enter an address on the web in order to retrieve desired location information from GIS
