STS is improving to better serve your transportation needs!

Some of the new technology that will now be available includes:

• Mobile Data Terminal which provides on-board technology that sends and receives data such as passengers’ pick-up and drop-off times, locations, and fare amount. 
• Automated Vehicle Locator that provides vehicle location for tracking purposes and monitors schedule adherence for investigations and no-show verification and,
• A new STS Radio Frequency Identification Card that automatically authenticates STS clients boarding and alighting STS vehicles and provides improved accountability.

Special Transportation Service (STS) is MDT's complementary paratransit service. Established in 1976 to meet the special transportation needs of disabled Miami-Dade County citizens, STS is available to anyone deemed eligible.  Privately contracted sedans, vans and vans equipped with lifts provide door-to-door service for eligible customers. Service is offered with no restrictions on trip purpose.

MDT will provide van/sedan shared-ride to persons determined to be "ADA Paratransit Eligible" for those trips that cannot be made using the county fixed route transportation service.

Cancellations should be made as early possible but at least one hour before the scheduled pickup time. For cancellations by phone call 305-264-9000.
