Ludlam Trail Corridor

The Ludlam Trail Corridor consists of the 6.2-mile long Florida East Coast railroad corridor from Blue Lagoon to State Road 878.

Public charrettes have been held in County Commission Districts 6 and 7, which encompasses the corridor.

History

The property owner, Florida East Coast Industries, filed an application in the May 2014 CDMP Amendment Cycle to amend.

At the Dec. 4, 2014 CDMP hearing, Florida East Coast Industries withdrew its application, and the Board of County Commissioners expressed its desire that the County take over the Ludlam Trail Corridor application. The Board directed charrettes to take place in Commission Districts 6 and 7. These took place in the spring of 2015.

On April 21, 2015 the Board adopted Resolution 350-15 directing the County administration to file an application in the May 2015 CDMP Amendment Cycle to reflect the results of the charrettes, found in the Ludlam Trail Corridor Charette Report.

On July 19, 2017, the Board adopted the CDMP amendment. On Nov. 21, 2017, the Board adopted the Corridor District zoning category. The property was rezoned on Jan. 24, 2019.

The Ludlam Trail is managed by the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.
