The Commercial Section advises the Board of County Commissioners and County staff with respect to all contract and procurement matters and represents the County in all contract disputes. The County currently has over 1,100 active contracts valued at approximately $2.8 billion dollars and awards approximately $900 million dollars in new contracts annually for the purchase of goods and services, including development transactions, construction contracts and agreements for the procurement of technology, goods and services. Commercial Section lawyers render advice in the structuring of solicitations for contracts, assist in the negotiation of complex transactions and review contracts for legal sufficiency. When disputes arise, the Commercial Section provides representation to the County before all courts and in administrative hearings.
