The Miami-Dade County Attorney's Office is a unique "in-house" civil law firm representing Miami-Dade County, Florida, the eighth most populous county in the U.S. with a population of more than 2.5 million people. The County has an annual budget of nearly $6 billion. The Miami-Dade County Attorney’s Office provides legal representation to all aspects of Miami-Dade County government, including the Mayor and the 13-member Board of County Commissioners, the Property Appraiser, 25 county departments and numerous boards, authorities, councils and commissions. The Office represents Miami International Airport, PortMiami, Jackson Memorial Hospital and Miami-Dade: Corrections, Elections, Fire-Rescue, Human Services, Libraries, Parks, Police, Public Housing Community Development, Transit and Water & Sewer, among other departments.

R.A. Cuevas, Jr.Robert A. Cuevas, Jr. was appointed County Attorney in May, 2007. He previously served as First Assistant County Attorney, and prior to that led many of the office’s practice groups, including the Tax, Eminent Domain, Transit and Commercial sections. Mr. Cuevas is experienced as both a litigator and as a transactional lawyer. He joined the County Attorney’s Office in 1970. Read full biography
