Jason Laeser joined the Miami-Dade County Attorney's Office in 2026 as a member of the Labor & Employment Law Section.

Before joining the County Attorney's Office, Jason spent nearly 25 years working in various capacities for the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) . Most recently, he worked in DOJ's Complaint Adjudication Office, where he drafted decisions adjudicating formal employment discrimination complaints raised by DOJ employees before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Previously, for approximately seventeen years, Jason worked for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in its Office of Chief Counsel in Arlington, Virginia. His practice there largely focused on civil litigation and administrative law. Jason handled complex litigation matters, and he advised and represented DEA officials at the agency's highest levels. He tried numerous cases before Administrative Judges at the EEOC and the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board. Jason's wide-ranging duties also included serving as agency counsel for various tort and personnel cases brought in federal courts. Jason regularly handled employment law issues, including legal review of disciplinary matters, and policy reviews for DEA's compliance office. Before his time at the DEA, Jason worked in DOJ's Torts Branch in its Civil Division in Washington, DC. He began his DOJ career working on a trial team for over four years, dedicated to litigating a highly complex RICO case in the DC District Court.

Jason began his legal career in 1998 as an Assistant State Attorney at the Office of the State Attorney in Miami-Dade County. In that capacity, he prosecuted cases ranging from misdemeanors to juvenile offenses to felonies. He was ultimately promoted to a specialized unit investigating and prosecuting child abuse and sexual battery cases.
