As your District 13 commissioner, I am honored to have been elected to represent the constituencies of Hialeah, Miami Lakes, Palm Springs North, and other areas of unincorporated Miami-Dade. Free "How To Start Your Own Business" Seminar
Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr. along with the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund organization have partnered to bring the “How to Start Your Own Business” seminar to District 13. The free seminar will take place at the John F. Kennedy Library, located at 190 W. 49th St. Hialeah on Wednesday, April 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
"All-America City"
Congratulations to the Town of Miami Lakes in being named a finalist among 19 other cities from the country for the selection of the “All America City”. Miami Lakes was the only city in the county to be selected. Congratulations to the Miami Lakes community for receiving this honor.

Water and Sewer Department repairs to result in lower water pressure for northwest Miami-Dade County
The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department began repairs today to the 54-inch water main on Red Road (also known as West Fourth Avenue in Hialeah) as part of the Infrastructure Assessment and Replacement Program. This project will result temporarily in lower water pressure throughout the Northwest portion of Miami-Dade County.
Miami Lakes Garden Club Scholarship
The Miami Lakes Garden Club is offering a scholarship to attend a Florida college or university to a High School Senior. The student must be a Miami Lakes resident, or a resident of the immediate area, and an American Citizen. The scholarship is for the upcoming fall semester and the award is for $1,000. Applicants must have at leat a “B” average and be enrolled as a full time student. Applications are due by April 21.

Commissioner Bovo celebrates National Library Week in Miami Lakes
As part of the celebrations for National Library Week, Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr. and children from the Miami Lakes area made reading a top priority on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Miami Lakes Branch Library located at 6699 Windmill gate Road.
