Welcome to District 13
As your District 13 commissioner, I am honored to have been elected to represent the constituencies of Hialeah, Miami Lakes, Palm Springs North, and other areas of unincorporated Miami-Dade. I invite you to visit my website periodically and use it as a connection to County Government where you can find useful information on services, programs and pertinent legislation.

Free Summer Lunch!
From June 10th – August 16th, the Miami-Dade County Public Library System and the Community Action and Human Services (CAHS) Department will be offering free lunches in different locations throughout the County.
The Miami Dade County Public Library System will be providing lunches, along with Sisters for Abundant Living, for children 18 years old and younger on a first come-first serve basis. Two of the 47 branches participating are located in our district: Miami Lakes and Palm Springs North Branch.
Summer Food Service Program
The CAHS department will also be hosting their Summer Food Service program for all children 18 years old and younger at no cost. There are several program sites located in our district.
"All-America City"
Congratulations to the Town of Miami Lakes in being named a finalist among 19 other cities from the country for the selection of the “All America City”. Miami Lakes was the only city in the county to be selected. Congratulations to the Miami Lakes community for receiving this honor.

Commissioner Bovo celebrates National Library Week in Miami Lakes
As part of the celebrations for National Library Week, Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr. and children from the Miami Lakes area made reading a top priority on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Miami Lakes Branch Library located at 6699 Windmill gate Road.
